On a Monday morning I climb to my office in the loft and settle down for a days work, quite often feeling tired and unmotivated. One thing that puts a little smile on my face, is turning my desk calendar to reveal a new photo. I created the calendar as a present to myself, when doing a couple for Christmas presents. It is from photobox and has a different picture each week. As it was produced in early December 2010, I have little recollection of what photos I picked, so each week brings a little surprise. So as I was turning over today, I had a light bulb moment. Why not use the photo as the basis for a regular blog post, telling the story that goes with it. The post will probably happen on a Monday as that is when I turn the calendar over! I also am hoping it will feed into my April goal of creating five layouts during the month. I have yet to think of a pithy title for this regular item but I won't let that stop me this week - as they used to say on the A team "I feel a plan coming together!"
This is me with the youngest on her school trip to a local country park last July. I have very few photos of me with my children, particularly the youngest because I'm usually the one behind the camera, so I'm glad to have this. It was taken when we had stopped for lunch and in the background you can see the play park which they were allowed to use when we had finished our lunch. During the morning we went bug hunting with nets and the afternoon found us pond dipping. It was lovely day, and I was pleased to be able to help out. I did take other photos, but as they include her class mates I won't show them here but will probably use them in my layout.
So that's it really - nothing flashy and very much personal to me but as I started this blog in order to connect my photos and stories, it works for me!
